Inactive Status
Inactive Status Application
Upon written request, any certificate holder or licensee may request to place his or her certificate or license in an inactive status for a period not to exceed three (3) years.
- The written request shall be made by completing a signed and sworn affidavit on a form approved by the board.
- The board may require a fee of fifty dollars ($50) for each change in status of the certificate holder or licensee.
- A license issued to an individual, as an associate real property appraiser shall not be eligible for inactive status.
Reinstating Inactive Status
To return to active status, (1) petition the Board for reactivation of the certificate or license; and (2) pay the applicable renewal fee,
roster fee and book fee ($252.00); and (3) provide evidence of completion of the annually required continuing education hours (14) for
each year of inactive status.
Remember that if you did not complete the continuing education for the year prior to placing your license/certification in the inactive status, you will also be required to complete that 14 hours of continuing education.
Example:
14 hours x 3 years in an inactive status = 42 + 14 hours for the year prior to placing your license in an active status = 56 total continuing education hours.

When requesting an address change with the reprinting of a license the fee is $10.00.
When requesting an address change and not have a license reprinted there will be no charge. This will allow us to update our data base and mailing list.
Letter of Good Standing
A request for a letter of good standing must be in written form by:
- Mail to: KREAB, 135 W. Irvine Street, Suite 301, Richmond, KY 40475
- Fax to (859) 623-2598
- Emailed to Angie.Thomas@ky.gov
The request must contain the following items:
- Name of the appraiser
- Complete mailing address where the letter of good standing is to be mailed.

To obtain a list of appraisers:
- Send $25.00 and request to KREAB, 135 W . Irvine Street, Suite 301, Lexington, KY 40511
- When requesting a list, please specify the format in which you want the list printed by appraisers last name, county or city.
